The Truck to Conquer Baja

The Baja 1000 is one of the most grueling races ever created and despite its name, the distances often vary from year to year. For 2014, the race had its 47th occurrence and managed to cover an astonishing 1,200 miles throughout the Mexican peninsula. The race field is always comprised of many different vehicle types from all over the world seeking the biggest challenge is off-road racing. For the Toyota TRD Pro team, the challenge proved formidable, but ultimately conquerable, especially with the Toyota Tundra that ran the race. The modified Tundra finished 69th overall in the race, but bested its in-class competition, winning the full-size stock class. The victory was no easy feat, as the beastly Tundra took an enormous gash to length of the driver’s side body. But the strength of the TRD brand showed through, as the Tundra found success in the Mexican desert.
